It feels like it was just yesterday that it was 2009. I feel like 2010 came so quickly that I did not realize it. I still write 2009 on some forms and logs. I will start my winter session course in Queens Borough Community College (QCC) tomorrow, January 4th. I will be taking basic Chemistry within three week duration. I was very impressed on how smooth and easy it was to speak to the registrar and the Chemistry department. I waited for a week and a half for my E-Permit to take the course at QCC and I was worried that the class will be full by the time I registered. Fortunately, it wasn’t and I called a representative from the registrar and they registered me for the course within 5 minutes. Then they were helpful enough to transfer me to the Chemistry department because I wanted to know the books I needed. The Chemistry department then guided me to their outline course outline at qcc.cuny.edu. I was able to find everything to be prepared for my upcoming class.
I celebrated New Year’s Eve differently this year. I usually wait until 10 or 11 at night and take the train to Times Square to try to catch a glimpse of the ball. I am not willing to wait in Times Square the whole day to watch the ball drop. This year I went shopping at Woodbury outlet. My friend and I were debating to go to either Tanger outlet or Woodbury the night before until 2am. We decided that Woodbury would be the best outlet to go to since it has a lot more stores and varieties than Tanger. This is my first time to go to Woodbury and I woke up at 6am the next day to take the bus from the Summit to my home to pick up some cash. Then we arrived at Penn Station by 7:45am to catch the Port Jervis line on the NJ transit. We got off at Harriman and took a bus to Woodbury. I didn’t know that prices for the train ride vary depending on the train stop you are arriving at so I bought a round trip to Port Jervis, the last stop. If I bought a round trip train ride to Harriman, I would have saved over 14 dollars. There were a lot of great stores including Uggs, Polo Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Fendi, Saks Off 5th Ave., Christian Dior and Coach. I’ve read that the sales after Christmas are better than on Black Friday. The best sale I’ve received during my adventure in Woodbury was 50% to 60% all bags in Coach. I thought it was a great deal so I bought a business attired bag. The whole trip to Woodbury and back to the Summit took only 3 hours each way. It takes about 4 hours to go to the Staten Island Mall, so it was faster to go to Woodbury than to Staten Island Mall.
