AAPICS history lecture

This is a little late notice but I just wanted to encourage everyone to attend a lecture sponsored by the Asian/American Center at Queens College. This event is part of the AAPICS (Asian American Pacific Islander Community Studies) program’s lecture series on Asian American history. The talk will be given by Dr. John Kuo Wei Tchen who is the director of the Asian/Pacific/American Studies Program at NYU. His presentation is titled: Intermingled and Dangerous: Five Points Irish, African and Chinese – Reclaiming the Abjected, Rejected, and Subjected – Manhattan’s Forgotten Port Culture Commons. The lecture is on Monday, April 12, 2010 during free hour and will take place at the Rosenthal Library in Room 230. LUNCH will also be served and it is a CLIQ POINT event.

If you have any further questions please contact me. Also RSVP with me if you plan to attend by either responding to this blog or emailing me at stran100@gmail.com. If you can also spread word to other students and faulty members who may be interested that would be great. I will be there representing the AAPICS program, which is offering a new Asian American Studies minor at QC so if people have any questions about this new exciting development on campus I can tell you more about it and introduce you to some of the faculty that are in charge of the project.
