Hey everyone! How was your summer? Did anyone get to go to the beach and enjoy the hot weather? Well, my summer was intense but very enjoyable! I took 3 classes. Two were retakes and one class was for auditing 1. A couple of my friends were taking the courses with me so that made the classes fly by more quickly. The most enjoyable moment while taking the summer courses was when we all had a break during free hour. We would get together and eat lunch and hang out near the CSA (Chinese Student Association) club room. There will be days when we have a group study session and days when we played Mah Jong.
Before the courses ended, I had a small get together at my house and had a barbeque. It was a great way to have everyone come together and talk about how their summer went. On top of all that I was an accounting intern at a small non-profit organization. I helped them organize their grants and foundations and I also performed daily bookkeeping task.
That’s not the end of my summer yet! I also went on vacation right after the courses ended. I wanted to get out of the big city so I headed north to Ohio. I spent 2 and half weeks there and I learned how to make lactose free pizza! It’s a must try for everyone. Remember to come try it out at my lactose free restaurant… ha-ha.
After I came back from my vacation, I started working at another small accounting firm which I post general ledger entries from the bank statement and make sure that they have equal end balance. I am glad to finally put my feet into the door and gain some accounting experience. Although my summer was enjoyable, I was glad to come back to school. I missed the atmosphere of students struggling to become a better or more knowledgeable human.
