Parking has GOT to SUCK.
I never realized how many people commute to campus by car.
But every classmate complains about how much it sucks to park.
Two things: if you don’t like it,
1. Use public transportation.
2. Leave enough extra time so you can park before you’re late to class.
But I totally understand. Parking can be tough.
By the way, have you guys been to the QC cafeteria? I have been there a couple of times, but this is what really really annoys me about it and about the whole nation.
I had heard rumors of the quality of food in college campus cafeterias, and I’m sure there’s a lot worse out there, but still- improvement is essential to our health. I’m not a health nut all the time, but I do my best to eat as healthy as I can. I only found out how important it was to eat healthy when I came here from another country and another perspective. Look at the options at the QCafe: The hot deli food next to the pizza and the Chinese food is way too greasy (as is the corner Chinese down Kissena), the mexican food (I think?!- tell me if I’m wrong…) can be dangerous if you don’t pick and choose what you get on them, the pizza and the ziti stuff looks less satisfying for the amount of calories you are consuming, and the fried chicken strips and fries can’t be a healthy option at all. The best you could do it a sandwich that is way too overpriced for how filling it is, possibly whole wheat and with a grilled chicken instead of a beef patty.
Don’t get me wrong- I love to pig out and eat whatever I want at times (maybe once or twice a week), but the options at the QCafe need to be modified. It’s not abcolutely terrible, but compared to the other places where food is offered on campus, the QCafe is ranking pretty low in my book. Does anyone else feel the same?
The other thing is that it’s overpriced. This is the place where most of us try to eat during our short breaks between class. I understand that times are tough, but the prices could definitely be more reasonable for students. Especially for in-state students that come to QC appealed to its economical aspects.
Here’s the link for the website for the QC Dining Services. It’s got a nutrition chart you can use, though I suggest using Livestrong – they have the most efficient chart out there. I used to work for a nutrition company so if you guys have any questions about exercising/eating well, feel free to contact me
Have a great HUMP DAY!!!!!!!
Best,
