10/27/10: Life is full of surprises. I wish I didn’t have to go through a loud disturbance at 4am that kept me up until school started but the experience is the most important. Experiences can be used for good or bad, depending on how you view and use the. Tuesdays are those days that if I miss that bus, I will be late to work. I forgot to add last week that I had to wait about 50 minutes for a bus to arrive heading to Astoria because 2 of them were supposedly involved in a crash. I went late to work that Thursday which meant less pay. This Monday’s interview was most enjoyable even though I had to miss class for it. The interviewer was a jolly alumnus from QC who became one of the first partners in the firm. It’s great to meet successful graduates and I can’t wait to be one of them. I would like to come back and give a speech or hire recent graduates.

10/30/10: Everywhere I went today people were speaking in Mandarin. I was happy to hear because it can help me learn more as I listen. It also tells me how important it is to know another language and to know Mandarin since the Asians are a growing population in America and beyond. I heard people speaking while I was on the train ride home from work and also when I went shopping. While I was shopping I was even asked by an Asian female what my size was so that she can compare that size for the gift she was planning to buy her brother. I tried to use my Mandarin to respond back and it was awesome to have that connection. Before heading out to check out the Halloween weekend, I headed to the nearest café and to my surprise all the employees were also speaking Mandarin. I had a Halloween and Mandarin weekend.

What I learned from that night was that you must keep living no matter how old you are.

10/31/10: I spent the day studying at school because it takes me away from all the distractions such as home, computers, food, etc. Then I went to the Halloween parade but I arrived late. It ended at 10pm this year due to budget constraints. I hung with a friend and took pictures of extraordinary costumes but they weren’t comparable to last years. The pictures didn’t come out too clear since I forgot how to use my camera. Sorry, I won’t post them since they are too blurry.
