Lets Shop: Flea Market Style

I’m almost done with work at the nonprofit organization and yesterday was my first time playing monopoly with a child and his mother. I then went to a celebration that my friend was having at his workplace. It is their 1st year anniversary in opening a clothing store in Manhattan so they celebrated by giving out small treats and free drinks.

I saw the cutest couple on the train while I was heading to the non-profit internship. They were a senior couple and they assisted each other getting off the train. This couple was well into their late years but there love was still so young. The husband told his wife to sit until the train comes to a complete stop with his physical gestures. The husband was standing and when the train stopped, his wife reached for his hands to pick her up. They left happily and gracefully off the train. While I was watching them leave, I had a flashback of them in the 1920’s with their mink coat, fedora hats, pearl necklace, net panty hose, suit and that same youthful love.

On Saturday I went to all the well known flea markets to check out the specials they had. There was a flea market that was centered in a parking garage in the middle of Manhattan. There was also a flea market strip where regular people start up shop on the middle of the street. I bought a pair of really nice dress shoes for $15 at goodwill. They were almost brand new! Then I went to DSW and found a pair of boots for my friend. Here is a video of a Japanese beat boxer that we saw on Union Square:

Yesterday I went shopping with my mother because she hasn’t been to the new Century 21 that opened in Queens. She was amazed at how big the new shopping center was and how she didn’t know where it was since it was right in front of her eyes. I went to eat Szechuan food with the family after shopping and I think I found my new found style of food that I really adore.
