Sunday night –
working here-
in the third floor balcony lounge of the Aaron Copland School of Music
of Queens College.
It’s a Sunday night after Thanksgiving.
I have gotten nothing I expected to get done this weekend/break.
I hope someone reading this can understand:
My Thanksgiving break consisted of… instead of “the huge list of things that was supposed to get done”, watching movies, sleeping, sleeping IN (for the first time in who knows how long), rolling around on the bed, eating and sleeping, not doing anything, dozing off, wishing I didn’t have to write papers, over-eating, eating after over-eating, gnawing on a turkey leg twice the length of my face after I said that I was over-eating, hoping that I won’t wake up the next morning triple the size I expected myself to be, hanging out with my favorite friends, calling my parents and telling them how thankful I am for bringing me to this world, and realizing how much I love my friends for being here to be my “family.”
So here’s an interesting video I found:(beware vegetarians… you may not be able to handle… watch with caution.)
TurBacon, World’s Largest “Turkey-thing”
That video almost made me not want meat for the rest of the day on Thanksgiving.
But nothing phased me:
Step 1:
NOTE: The knife in that picture is a regular foot-long kitchen knife
YUM: Homemade “spiced” cranberry sauce
A PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE FROM MARTHA’S BAKERY IN FOREST HILLS. AMAZING. AMAZING. AMAZING. IT WAS THE BEST CHEESECAKE EVER.
YOU MUST BUY IF YOU EVER GET A CHANCE.
That was my Thanksgiving.
Hopefully more friend appreciation pictures will be posted later once they’re posted and tagged on facebook…
In the meantime, the QC choir will be going to a NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) Convention… on the way, we will also be performing at SUNY Cortland.
It will definitely be an exciting trip to Rochester, NY.
ANNOUNCEMENT:
We will have a Winter Choral Concert THIS WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!
It will be in LeFrak Hall (in the music building) during Free Hour.
Please come and listen to the Chorus and Choir sing!
Have a great week – and good luck trying to change modes from the hopefully relaxing weekend
