I know it’s been over a month already since my last post, and I apologize for that! There has been so much I’ve been meaning to write, but I just couldn’t get myself down to typing the words. I think I may have caught a bad case of writers block…or maybe I was purposely trying to avoid writing, because I didn’t want to think about all the things I’ve been through so far. Up until this point, I’ve been successfully writing mostly about school, but now I think I should alternate my focus on something a bit different. This post, however, will be focused on school.
It’s deep into the semester, and I haven’t yet revealed what classes I’m taking. This semester I’m taking 12 credits, which is 3 credits short of what I took in the fall. I’m taking Creative Writing, Digital Movie-making, Digital Image-making, and Accounting 101. My schedule for this semester is quite different this time, and I’m still trying to make myself accustomed to it. Monday and Wednesday are the “lighter” days for me, although I start a bit late. I have Accounting on those days, and classes are from 4:00 p.m. to 5:40 p.m. Tuesdays are my longest day, as I go from 2:15 p.m. to 9:20 p.m. I have my Image-making class from 2:15 to 5:50 p.m., and then my Creative Writing class starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 9:20. I never knew how complex taking photos can be, especially using a DSLR camera. For my photography class, I borrowed my brothers DSLR. There are so many functions to the camera that it sometimes gets really confusing, and I’m still learning how to use it properly. My photography midterm is this Tuesday, March 22, so I’m kind of nervous about it, but I think and I hope that I will do a good job.
This semester I have no classes on Thursday, but I do have it on…Saturday. I was a bit skeptical about taking a Saturday class at first, but I really wanted to take a movie-making class. I really lack in the computer editing department, so I thought by taking this class, maybe I could improve. And I think I am –> I finally learned how to use iMovie correctly!
I think my creative writing class is going well. I decided to take Accounting to see if it could be a possible choice for my major, but it’s not for me. I am so far behind in my class, and the more I try to catch up the more I get confused. But there’s no more room for confusion, as I have my accounting midterm next Wednesday, on the 30th. I only have a short period of time left, so I should better get my brain to properly function, but it’s just not abiding.
On a positive note, I think I may have found what I want to study. I’m thinking of majoring in English and minoring in Journalism. So far I have taken a few English classes. I have not taken any classes in Journalism yet, but I was in journalism during my senior year of high school. I know that high school level journalism does not compare to what is taught in college, but I’m enthusiastic about it. I know it may sound cliche, but I have a strong passion for writing. But I still have to wonder where this passion will take me. I definitely don’t want to be a jaded writer. I want to bring out my creativity, but I don’t think creativity earns any value if it goes unnoticed, as what happens to so many writers.
