Friday the 13th + What lies ahead

Today was Friday the 13th.  I’m saying “was” because it’s around 11:30 p.m. now, so the day’s almost over.  I’ve never been one to believe in the myth regarding any Friday that has a 13 attached to it.  At the same time, I wonder why hotels skip the 13th floor altogether in their elevators.  I didn’t experience anything horrible today.  Something semi-embarrassing happened to me today, but nothing truly horrible.  The only other thing that happened to me was that on my way home, I had to wait for the bus for over 55 minutes, which is the longest I ever had to wait for a bus.  I guess there’s a first for everything.

Today I spent most of my time in and around the Queens College campus.  I don’t have any Friday classes, but I had to shoot some footage for a short film that I’m working on for my Moviemaking class.  Due to the nature of my topic, I had to use actors this time for my project.  This was their first acting gig, but they were so natural at it that everything flowed together in perfect harmony.  I couldn’t have been able to get the footage that I have now if it wasn’t for their hard work.  I send the two of them my sincerest congratulations.

Tomorrow afternoon I’ll have to put all the footage together and edit the film during class.  Then the Saturday after tomorrow I’ll have to present my student short, along with handing in a storyboard and an artist’s statement.  I have a lot to do in such a short time –> this semester’s nearing the end!
