1- OPI nail polish
I am a nail polish fiend. I never get professional manicures, so I am willing to spend a decent amount on my polishes [$8 a bottle is still better than a $15 for a single manicure, right?]. OPI definitely makes a great formula, with an equally great brush that helps to avoid streaks. My three favorite colors from OPI are Black Cherry Chutney, Russian Navy, and I’m Not Really a Waitress. The first is a vampy purple black, the second [you guessed it] is a nice deep hued navy, and the third a great dark red.
side note: for those of you looking for something less expensive but still good, I say opt for ” Sinful Colors” instead –I personally recommend “Secret Admirer” which is a sparkly black. Their products are around $2 a bottle and I usually find them in Duane Reade.
2- Lash Blast Volume Mascara by CoverGirl.
I’m not huge on eye makeup, but I do love mascara [paradox?]. Anyway, Lash Blast Volume Mascara by CoverGirl is awesome. I just curl my lashes, put around 2 coats on, and I feel like I’m wearing false eyelashes. And the best part is it is fairly inexpensive at around ~7 dollars a tube.
3- Acne Solutions Spot Healing Gel by Clinique
I first got a mini tube of this stuff as a free sample from Sephora. I didn’t use it until one night when I discovered a pesky break-out around my chin/jaw area. I put some on and the next morning I’d say the area was 90% cleared up. Not bad right?
I will say that the downsides to this product are that it REEKS like straight up vodka and it is slightly expensive. However, it is totally clear so you can put it on before you do your makeup or just dab it on some problem spots overnight.
enjoy!
