The half way point of our semester has just passed, and vacation for the students in Japan is almost to an end. They will be starting their spring semester very soon. While we here enjoying our spring break, they are stressing over placement exams. Let’s just enjoy our spring break and not let it go to waste.
Somethings that are coming up, for that part of you that is interested in Japanese culture.
March 20 – April 27 : National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC
Though a bit far, it is their 100th year of celebration in Washington DC. 100 years ago, Japan gave the gift of Cherry Trees to the USA in 1912, 1000 of 3000 Cherry trees remain from that initial gift. Later 3800 was given. Wouldn’t it be a wondrous experience to see this event?

April 28 – 29 : Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Sakura Matsuri
Have a relaxing time under the cherry trees on a bright sunny warm afternoon in the spring time. Lounge around, have a nap – go on, take the day off.
