This past Friday I went to my cooperating school with a small pit in my stomach – I was to find out exactly which class I will be teaching next semester. STUDENT TEACHING IS COMING!
I observed one class of MATH143, a class exactly lined up with the last third of the Calculus unit at Queens college, and then awaited what was in store for me. Turns out, MATH143 it is! It will not be with that group of students I observed, but rather with the students in MATH142 right now… it is slightly confusing, but extremely exciting.
MATH143 (Calc3?) Was actually the first mathematics course I took at Queens college, and look, not 3.5 years later I’ll be teaching it to a class of Junior and Senior High Schoolers. I’m giddy with anticipation and nerves because I seriously have some self teaching to do!
Anyway, I wanted to share that news because now you know what will lay ahead for next semester in regards to this blog – the aches, pains and joys of learning being thrown into the water and learning to swim, or rather thrown to the high schoolers and learning to teach!
