It’s the End…of Finals Week

Recipe of the Week: Ground Turkey and Pasta

Inhale. Now Exhale. Another deep breath in, and another out.

So my first finals week turned out to be interesting – sort of, not really. I’m just glad it’s over. Actually it was kind of horrifying, especially after my psychology debacle.

There I was, ten minutes before my psychology final, doing a PowerPoint for another class, when I decided I should get my things together for the psych class. My psych exam was take home, not bad. I had finished it one-week prior and spent hours agonizing over each question. Alas, as luck would have it, I discovered ten minutes before my exam, that my answers magically vanished. Hysteria ensued! And I ended up scrambling to come up with fifty answers in five minutes, which was fun.

I guess this is the universe’s way of telling me not to be so absent minded! Lesson learned universe. Lesson learned.

But I won’t let that damper my spirits! What’s done is done, and I’m moving on.

Congrats everyone – we finished the semester! And just in time to watch the birth of a new era – or as some see it, the supposed end of the world. But I won’t get into that. When we wake up tomorrow morning we’ll all roll our eyes at the big misunderstanding and go on with our lives.

To mark the end of the semester, I decided to make a simple recipe that’s pretty much fool proof. It comes out good no matter what – something my fried brain is happy about (no thinking needed).

Ingredients

-Ground Turkey

-Pasta Sauce

-Spaghetti

-Onions, sliced

-Grape-seed oil

-Half a cup of water (optional)

-Olive Oil

-Salt

Step One: Slice one whole onion into thin strips.

Step Two: Drizzle vegetable oil (I used grape-seed oil) on frying pan. Put Turkey Breast (It looks like a giant slab of meat now, but don't worry it won't stay that way) on to frying pan.

Step Three: Add onions to frying pan and stir.

Step Four: Stir occasionally until ground turkey and onions are fully cooked (the onions should be a caramel color).

Step Five: Add pasta sauce to ground turkey and onions. Stir occasionally and wait until contents come to boil. You may wish to add half a cup of water.

Step Six: In a separate pot, bring water to boil (add olive oil and salt) and then add spaghetti. Leave in for about ten minutes or more until pasta has completely softened. Once pasta is fully cooked, drain the water out.

Step Seven: Add ground turkey pasta sauce to spaghetti and serve! Enjoy!

Happy holidays everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful winter break.
