Miss. America or Miss. India o.o

Hi everyone! Today, I am really hyped up to tell you all about whats been going on in current news, and I’m sure plenty of you guys have heard about it as well! This years Ms. America, is not exactly what you would refer to as Caucasian. Actually, you can basically take the “Cauc” out of there. On September 15th of this year, Miss Nina Davuluri was named as Miss. America.

Although I see this as wonderful news for those like myself, whom are considered by no means fully tilted on one culture, many beg  to differ. Miss. Davuluri has had to face much criticism, but has never lost face throughout all of this. She has been called a terrorist simply due to the color of her skin, and said to “belong in a 7/11″.

Here is some feedback from those of us who are very proud of Nina’s accomplishments:

We definitely need to have a blog post about Superwoman. I’ll save that for another day.

Others choose to take her being Miss. America as guidance, hope, and happiness for all the multicultural individuals in America. Her grace, talent, and altruistic nature was what helped her come forth, and the strive and will that she put through for this contest was unbelievable. Nina serves as a role model for all the colored little girls out here, who feel as if they will never be completed considered as an “American” regardless of what their birth certificate or citizenship certificate proves, simply due to the color of their skin. It teaches even those of us whom are older, that no matter what, you cannot use the fact that you are multicultural as an excuse for why you cannot do something.

I hope we can all learn from Nina’s accomplishments, and for those of you who disagree with me, well I guess controversial topics are always to be discussed! So leave a comment! :D

Till next time, all you Culture Shocked People :)
