An Honest Moment

Wandering through the Student Union, I walked past this woman and inquired about the pile of papers on her desk.  With just one question, she voiced her most recent struggle, and the struggle became mine.

As humans, we survive off of each other.  We live for the honest moments when our lives connect with the life of another human being—whether it’s for our careers, for friendship, or for love.

The humans of Queens College are no different.  This year, in a Queens College spin-off of the website, Humans of New York, I’m bringing those honest moments to you.

“I don’t know where the confidence went that my team came back thinking that they’re going to lose. I had to get really mad for them to do what they’ve been doing for the past three years. I had to yell for them to realize that we are the same team that we were before. Nothing has changed. I told them to come back with a new attitude. This goes with life. Whenever you think negative of yourself, it comes back as a chain reaction against everyone else. So always think positively.”
