Short Questions:
If you’ve travelled abroad, name all the countries you’ve been to (countries travelled to):
“I Studied abroad in France in the summer, the Dominican republic, I took a cruise to jamaica Grand Turk and the Bahamas, but I plan on travelling more.”
“That leads to my next question”
What are two countries you wish you could go to and why?
“Well I want to travel to Bangkok [Thailand] because they have a study abroad program for Media Studies, and because they practice buddhism there which is the religion i’m trying to get into it, and I think it would be beneficial to go to a country where it’s all about that”
“And the second”
Anywhere in Africa. I’m taking a course on West African film, and It’s really interesting to see the cultural similarities with my country, and that’s where we all originated from so I think it would be good to go, “home” *laughs* and get to know about it.
Books and movies that have made you cry:
“well this book I’m reading right now “Dispatches from the Edge” by Anderson Cooper…
“CNN Anderson Cooper?”
“…yea, it didn’t really make me cry but It really hit home for me because he’s very passionate about journalism and as a kid he was always questioning stuff and he talks about where his curiosities originated from and his transition into journalism and that even though he graduated from Yale he still had trouble getting a job, It’s just very inspiring and it feels very good to know there’s someone in the field that I could relate to”
Favorite spot in NYC:
“Union Square. It’s just very relaxing, and the park in the middle. I would say Central Park but it smells really bad *laughs.* At Union Square theres a lot to do”
TV shows: Just list them
I don’t watch a lot, but I like to watch the Daily Show with Jon Stewart and the Colbert Report, I used to watch Dexter and True Blood but that ended and I’m looking for new stuff to watch”
If you’re really bored what’s your go to place on the internet?
I like Tumblr, Or Twitter. I really like journalism so I’m always looking for what’s going on. I’m always reading online so I don’t think I ever get bored.

In Depth Questions:
A morbid, dark question. A genie appears and tells you that you have a choice. You can either choose to live in solitary confinement in prison for the rest of your life or five people you don’t know and will never hear about instantly die. Which would you choose and why?
“Oh god, that’s horrible. I think I would choose solitary confinement just because I feel like I’m really in touch with myself, and in control of my emotions.
“So you think you would be able to handle it?”
“Yepp. I think I would be able to do it because I’m sociable, but no so sociable to the point that I always have to be going out with people. I don’t mind *laughs.* Maybe I would go a little crazy, but I would not kill five people that’s just terrible.
Lets say you know you will live till 80. Would you give up two years of your life for one day on the moon?
“No, because I’d rather stay where I am now than go somewhere else. The moon sounds like a cool place to be but there’s nothing there as opposed to the world. [On earth] there are humans and they’re amazing and they create so many complex things, so to just go and explore the world, I have a U.S. passport now so I can do that, to explore the world and see the different things people do and talk about I think that’s more amazing than going somewhere we’re still trying to figure out.”
If you could be obscenely wealthy and powerful in any age, time, culture, or country etc…, which would it be? Roman noble? kate in “titanic” rich? persian king? victorian lord? modern times? and why?
“That’s tough. I would say modern times like Bill Gates. I mean, If you’re asking me what time period I would like to live in that’s a different question. But, yea, Bill Gates, he’s such an influential person and he did the Ice Bucket Challenge and that was amazing, just the way he went about twisting it and making it his own thing.”
“And let’s say the question was what time period would you want to live in?”
I would say the Sixties, before the war, *laughs*
“Like Woodstock sixties?”
Yea, I guess, things seemed simpler, and I have watched a lot of films from that time period, and it was more about content than who was portraying certain roles, and It seemed simpler”
All Holden in “The Catcher in the Rye” wants to do is stop kids from falling off a cliff. If you could have any job, assuming all salaries for every job are equal, what would you want to do? why?
“I like to help people. Which I why I like the job I have now, I’m a cashier, I mean it’s retail and everybody hates retail, and i’m at home depot, but the store really cares about customer satisfaction, and just being there and conversing with people, that’s an ideal job, that you’re able to communicate and help other people at the same time. It’s not like you’re being barked out all the time. I mean my dream job is to be a movie director, but I know that’s not gonna happen for like twenty years give or take, I wanna explore the field first. But for right now I think comfort and equality and helping out are my biggest priorities.”
Android, IOS windows or other? What made you choose?
“I have IOS but I hate it. Last week I had to go and change my battery because it was crashing, and they were gonna charge me 75 dollars for it and I was just complaining that if this happens again I’m gonna get a go phone *laughs*, because, you know, I just need a phone for calls or text. Texting is not necessary for anyone. It’s just a new thing that has overtaken verbal dialogue so people don’t talk anymore. Conversations don’t last more than five minutes. Most of my friends I can talk to on the phone, which helps, for the most part they like to text. I’m at the point where I don’t respond to the texts because I like to stress that I like to talk on the phone too. Iphones are annoying. There’s a new update and a new phone every month, and it’s just the same thing with more problems. It’s all just the advertisements.”
Do you believe in God(s)? A sort of life force you couldn’t actually describe if your life depended on it? what are your views on the statement “I believe in god but not organized religion”?
“Yes, I agree with that statement. I don’t agree with religion just because I view it as a business, Like specifically the church, and it was kind of a conflict with my parents. My father sees eye to eye with me. And my Mother does see eye to eye with it [also] but it’s just that she was brought up with it with believing in the church and stuff like that, so it’s kind of like she can’t let go even though she wants to. but for me just in terms of learning about philosophy and questioning life and learning how things are, I see that there are gangs and you’re against this, you’re against that, and that’s why I like buddhism because it’s the only religion that hasn’t caused wars and accepting of whoever you are. It doesn’t matter if you’re gay or Lesbian or transgender whoever you are, so if you’re not welcome into this club [other religions] because you’re one way, that’s not ok with me. I do believe in God, but I don’t believe I have to go to church to communicate with God I can do that on my own, so thats where I stand on that.”
Who would you say are the top five best looking celebrities/models, male or female”
“Girls – Ciara, Alicia keys, I’m not big on Beyonce, Guys- I like Bradley Cooper, Matt Pokora, he’s a French pop star, and a fifth, Robert Downey JR.”
Would you let a guy pay for you on a date / would you insist on paying for the date? why?
“I always like to pay.”
“So if he offers to pay for the dinner would you insist on paying?”
“I wouldn’t insist, but if he keeps insisting that he pay I would insist we go half and half. It’s [the practice of paying] old fashioned, and I’m a little old fashioned, but I feel like i’m independent and could pay for myself, so if we both pay half i’m fine with that, but I don’t think it’s a competition of who looks more, how would you say it, respectful or something like that”
