“February 19 of this year, I broke both bones in my ankle, and I now have plates and screws in my ankle. I experienced lots of pain, and I have a limp. At the time, I was working two jobs, and I was a student. When I broke my bones, I had to stop working, which was hard as I’m also a mom. I had to go through disability for support, and it was hard knowing that after everything, this is where I am. But with a good support system, positive thinking, and God, I am able to get through this and accomplish what I have determined.”
Sometimes it’s hard to stop and ask yourself, How did this happen? How did I get here? But those are the questions that help you move forward.
Rosie? Ah this is great, I love that you are doing this! Have a good semester at Queens!
How do you pick the people you interview? What an encouraging story and what a great way to talk to people, maybe even share what you know!
Blessing!
