Before I posted up a well-thought out piece on my number one anticipated game of 2015, I figured it would be nice to indulge my readers with a nice, concise list of games that are worth mentioning. The following games are from all kinds of publishers and fall into many different genres; however, they all have one thing in common: they grabbed the attention of the majority of gamers, including myself, when they were announced. Here we go!!
1) Rime
Rime is an indie game by Tequila Works that still does not have a release date, but will probably launch in the fourth quarter of 2015. This trailer elicits a sense of childhood naïveté; while I’m watching it I feel as if I could return to childhood by playing this game. As you saw in the trailer it is a game that is suited for even seven year-olds, yet I will definitely be picking this game up as soon as it hits the U.S. There are very few games that actually make you feel calm and relaxed when you play them and I have a feeling this will be one of those rare gems.
2) Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a role-playing game following the story of a man named Geralt that is not only a monster hunter, but also a wicked swordsmen. I have been following this game since before E3 last year and the trailers get better and better every couple of months. Let me just say that I’m a sucker for games with swords. Having said that, I can’t ignore the ambition of open-world role-playing games. Ever since the release of Red Dead Redemption on PS3 I have been craving a new world of exotic, diverse environments to explore at my leisure on my trusty steed. This one is definitely a must-buy folks; they postponed it to May 2015 from their original date of late February 2015, so it’s going to be good!
3) Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
My final honorable mention is a game with numerous previous entries and a story so convoluted that a venn diagram of it would probably be nauseating to look at. Other than that we can expect this to be one of the best, if not the best, games of 2015. How do I know this? Well, this game is the brainchild, as was the entire Metal Gear series, of the legendary Hideo Kojima. A humble man that started out working in a video game company in Japan where he created the first Metal Gear game. He was made fun of, but years later, in the mid-80s, he found himself at Konami with a published version of his game. From there Hideo Kojima has continued to revolutionize the stealth-gameplay and horror-gameplay genres. This game looks to be no different. Its graphics will be second-to-none and its gameplay will offer more tactical options than any other stealth-action game. This gameplay demo is 30 minutes long, but if you start watching it, you’ll watch every second. Also, check out this cool multiplayer gameplay trailer that was recently released a couple of months ago.
Well, if you read the excerpt and are expecting to find something special here at the end of the post, here we go. I just wanted to share with all my readers that I have struggled with managing my time for as long as I can remember due to my obsession, some would say addiction, with video games. I wanted to share with everyone that I have been playing much less as of late and I would like to thank all of you for reading because I think this blog has helped me realize that video games are good, like all things, in moderation. Those of you who read my blog every week I thank you for giving my opinion value and also for promoting the great gaming industry in general through the support of gaming media.
Thank you for your support and don’t forget to share this post with friends!!
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is really fantastic. Bravo!
