So I’m not a monkey. I’m a girl: long black hair, wide dark eyes, in fact you’d probably walk right past me if you ever saw me on campus, that is unless I’m chatting with my best friend in which case you’d probably be smacked by one of my dramatic hand gestures. And I’m not so awesome. I’ve spent the past two years of college going through an insane rollercoaster ride: the ups, the downs, and the no-shows. And what do I have to display for all that? A transcript that went from straight A’s and a 4.0 GPA embellished with honors, to a bitter sprinkling of D+’s and a big angry F pulling my GPA down to a miserable 2.3.

So now you’re probably wondering why I’m wasting my time with a blog instead of living and breathing off my textbooks like there’s no tomorrow. Because writing regularly, turning myself into words on a page, and learning where I need to revise and where I’m not doing so bad is my medicine for getting back on track. This blog will be my way of sharing my journey with all the other students like me, students who’ve fallen and eventually reached the rock bottom of academia (come on, I can’t possibly be the only one!), and showing my fellow students that you can trudge your way back up, one textbook at a time. From prioritizing and time management tips to learning once again how to be the Awesome Monkey I know I’m capable of being, I welcome you to join me for one more rollercoaster ride.
