Final Post For Spring 2010

This is my last post in regards to Spring 2010 term.

It has officially ended, it ended yesterday with the graduation ceremony for the class of 2010, and after that the biology exam that took place in KY 150 and 170 at 4:30 -6:30 pm. Those two were the last concluding events of Spring 2010. Today Spring 2010 is history, it’s done and it’s gone. You may ask yourself what? There was a final exam going on even after the graduation ceremony? And my answer is YES! My sister, herself was taking that exam. Queens College messed up big time this semester both in regards to the Spring break and as well as the final exam schedule, for accommodating the majority Jewish population.

To be honest, I did not like this semester so much and I’m more than happy that it’s over now. Though I only had 13 credits, but the work load was more than Fall 2009 where I had 19 credits. I must add that NEVER be fooled by the amounts of credits. I have had a class that was officially worth 2 credits but the work load was more than a course that was officially 4 credits. I had 5 hard classes, 3 accounting classes, statistics, and corp finance which both stats and corp finance had labs and they were not that easy anyways.

I had a lot of fun though, to be fair. I mean I can’t say it was horrible, but this semester was very stressful. I think I did good but I have not received one grade yet, and that kinds of make me feel that Spring 10 has not yet ended. One can say that the semester is not yet over till you get all of your grades.

By now you must have noticed that this post does not have one unified theme, and I’m not writing about one specific topic. In fact I just want to express all of my thoughts about the semester that has just ended, the first semester of the new decade!

As we all know yesterday the class of 2010 graduated and now they’ve become alumni of  QC. I’m really not big on graduation, and never attended any graduation ceremony since pre-K till high school. Yes, that’s right, I did not attend my high school graduation ceremony. I also don’t have any plans for attending the graduation ceremony here at QC, (that’d be next year). I don’t really care, it’s not a big deal for me. However I do want to graduate. I really do. Yesterday as I walked around the campus and saw people walking around in their gowns, I felt really bad that I’m not there yet. I was supposed to graduate with class of 2009, that was a year ago. But due to the fact that I took a year off for work, and other semesters I was a part-time student I fell 4 semesters behind. It’s pretty depressing when you see people who were your age graduated a year ago, and those a year younger than you graduated yesterday, and YOU are left alone, and will probably graduate next year with those who are 2 years younger than you! I know that college is not like high school that you should be within your age class and etc. But it still bothers me. In any event I’m doing my best to catch up and in though I have fallen behind in terms of time but I did not fall behind in terms of quality of my grades.

So, that’s it for Spring of 2010. Starting my next post I will be focusing on Summers session I which starts on Tuesday, June 1, and which by the way I’m taking 2 classes. Till then take care and wish you the best. Last but not least, congratulation to all graduates of class of 10.
