So now you may be wondering, why exactly am I showing you this article, or maybe you already know?
Americans have a tendency of complaining about things when they don’t go a certain way. Don’t worry, I’m not pointing fingers at everyone, I do the same thing: as you may have noticed, I’m constantly criticizing America, its politicians and people, on decisions made, public popular opinion, and so on.
Maybe you hate Obama, maybe you love Obama, maybe you’re indifferent: the point is, we still need to appreciate what we have. Sure, maybe some of you would prefer to trade in Obama for Justin Bieber, but I certainly do not. Obama has not been a perfect president, but he certainly has done more than he has been given credit for, and the world is noticing. So instead of allowing the rest of world to see us the arrogant, ungrateful, ignorant people we have been given a reputation for, how about we all take a moment to be grateful. Thanksgiving is coming up soon, isn’t it? (Puns for the win.)
I, Adrianna Sirinian, am thankful for a president who upholds the liberties to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given growing up in a country that has treated me like worthy and equal.
Everyone, with me now: THANK YOU AMERICA (and Obama).
Nice post. No matter how you feel about the current administration, it’s worth remembering that in many ways, we have it better in the modern U.S. than most people have ever had it.
Right? I think so too. Thanks for your comment! I think a lot of people forget to be grateful for all we are given living and being citizens of the U.S.
