Whoever has said, “Those who can, do, those who can’t teach” are obviously increasingly ignorant because in just two weeks of preparing lessons, I’ve never had to work so hard, yet somehow, it still is rewarding.
Finally, this past Friday, I taught a lesson that I was happy about. We learned together how a horizontal line has a zero slope, while a vertical line doesn’t have a slope – it is undefined. While the actual math content may have be simple for me, it is the mathematics of the lesson creation and implementation that takes time to develop – and that is why we have student teaching, to learn the steps to making learning math fun. Let’s see what awaits!
