I’m an a shopaholic… and sometimes that gets in the way with my studies. I literally could not wait for this day to come. I pretty much pushed all my schoolwork to do this weekend (excluding Friday, of course). What I assume would be the best day of year became the worst within minutes.
There was a lot of aggressive drivers; One person cut me off on the highway when I was already in the exit lane, and he did it in the most stupid way possible. He almost rammed into me! He that just so he can cut the long line of drivers who also wanted to exit. I can not stand people cutting me or other people… It turns me into the Hulk. Amazingly enough, another driver tried to do, but I became bumper-to-bumper with the car in front of me so he got the message. I nearly got into three car accidents that day, because people were driving in insane speeds to get to the mall.
It was at 1am, and all most of the floors in the parking vicinity were filled already. And more people were driving above the speed limit in there as well… it was almost as if I was in a car movie, and I’m the bad guy who’s getting attacked by all these drivers. It took me a good 30 minutes to find parking and walk down to the mall entrances.
The lines at the stores were so long, I couldn’t handle it. I chose one store and bought a few things for Christmas gifts. Chose was the wrong word, I had to grab whatever appealed to me that was arms distance before people could snatch it away from me.
I had the most strangest conversation with this girl. We were both frantically looking for the same dress. The problem was she didn’t know what she wanted. She first confronted by asking me what was my size. I guess she was sizing me up before asking me, since she commented that we were the same size. I told her what size I was and brushed off that odd question. A few seconds later, she asks how much I weighed. As if my size was not enough, she need more precise numbers. I only wished I gave her an obscure number so that she would give me the same “wtf” face I had.
And there were people who were trying to cut others on the register lines. A fight almost broke out because a few people did so. People tried to prevent that from happening by standing butt to crotch to each other. I felt so uncomfortable that this girl was so close to me that she was literally breathing down my neck that I had to elbow her a couple times to give me some personal space.
I got back at 3:30am. On the bright side, I got most of my Christmas shopping done. Then again, shopping at one store should not take that long… I must say, desperate people do desperate things. That day was by far the most interesting Black Friday I ever had.
