Snow, Tea, and The Year Of The Snake!

What a week. What a day. Shall we recap?

Honestly, this week passed by in such a blur that it’s like trying to remember a drunken stupor. Aside from the fuzzy memories of being in class, and my notes which prove I was actually there and surprisingly functioning, I have nothing to show for it. No, wait, scratch that. I have a lot less tea packets now. Speaking of…

Ahh~ I feel the time slowing down around me already.

I don’t know what I was thinking when I accepted my boss’s offer to come in all five days of the work week instead of my initial four. Oh right, I was thinking I could handle a six-day school week and five-day work week at the same time. HA. Superwoman, I sure as heck am not. Fast forward to Thursday night and I was stumbling my way to my bed, collapsing as soon as I hit it.

Which was how I made the transition to glorious Friday morning, sleeping like a blissful dead log, when my alarm suddenly pierced through my unconscious. My arm instinctively shot out from under the covers and fumbled around the side of my bed until I shut that darn thing off. Today IS Friday, right? Yes…yes it is. Which means no classes, which means I should not even be stirring before 10:30 AM and right now it is…too darn early to be talking to myself. I pulled the covers up over my head and was about to shrug the whole thing off as an unfortunate turn of events when my mom, of course, bursts into the room. Well this whole morning is going downhill.

At least there’s a bright side. It’s LUNAR NEW YEAR! One of my favorite holidays that round out my TOP 3 along with Christmas and birthdays (Yes, I am one of those people who count birthdays as a holiday, STOP ARGUING WITH ME. IT’S A GOSH DARN HOLIDAY IF I WANT IT TO BE). Maybe it’s the red envelopes, maybe it’s the food, maybe it’s the dancing lions, or maybe it’s just knowing that another year has passed, and another year of possibilities lie before me. What will be waiting for me in the Year of the Snake? What memories await to be made? Will anything even change?

PENGUIN SLEDDING: AVATAR-STYLE

This year, the Lunar New Year is being ushered in with the help of very high, very fluffy, and very awesome several inches of snow. Now I happen to be a snow-lover. Stick me in the South Pole and I’ll go sledding with the penguins. Stick me in the North Pole and I’ll mingle with the polar bears. My point is, while the rest of my family are wringing their hands in frustration at the snow piled up outside, I’ve got my hands (and face) plastered against my balcony door. I couldn’t be happier.

I do hope everyone made it through Nemo okay, though. I bid you all a Happy Year of The Snake and a Happy snow day!
